Director of Sustainability - Emory's Office of Sustainability

Meet Cyrus, a sustainability champion who joined the Emory Office of Sustainability Initiatives team in 2023. With a passion for energy efficiency and sustainability, Cyrus has dedicated his career to making a difference at the local, state, and regional levels. As the former Director of Energy Efficiency Policy at the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, he collaborated with policymakers to promote energy efficiency across the Southeast.

When he's not working on advancing clean energy, Cyrus loves pondering ways to build connections and infrastructure for a greener future, especially in regions where grits and sweet tea are plentiful - making Emory University a perfect fit!

With 18 years of experience under his belt, Cyrus is an expert in stakeholder facilitation and strategic thinking. You'll often find him armed with post-its, markers, and flip charts, ready to brainstorm innovative solutions.

Despite his busy schedule, Cyrus always finds time to give back to the community as a board member of the Decatur MLK Service Project. He's proof that making a difference starts with passion and dedication, inspiring us all to work toward a more sustainable world.
